Factsheets
The National Federation Research Sub-Committee has developed a series of fact sheets. It is envisaged that they will provide support to individuals throughout member organisations who are undertaking research and will provide guidance in the areas of research definitions, ethical principles and consent. A template of a Research Proposal Form is available also to support people undertaking research.
Guidelines and Checklists
Using Focus Groups as a Research Method in Intellectual Disability Research - A Practical Guide
The Research Sub-Committee recently developed Guidelines for Researchers Interviewing People with an Intellectual Disability. These guidelines are primarily for researchers carrying out interviews with people with an intellectual disability and should be used in conjunction with their own organisation's policy on carrying out research.
