Statement of Support

The National Federation of Voluntary Service Providers is aware that this is a worrying and uncertain time for our Members, the people we support and the wider community.  We are also aware of the huge commitment and effort that voluntary bodies are displaying to provide services and support to the people who avail of our services, their families and the wider public.

The National Federation is committed to playing it part in this crisis and to this end we are engaging on a daily basis in collaborative work with the HSE and other relevant authorities to ensure that our members’ issues are heard and that appropriate responses are developed and delivered to support people with intellectual disabilities and their families.  We are working continuously with key stakeholders to resolve to the best of our ability key concerns of our members.

To this end we have provided a list of resources for guidance and advice to assist in navigating the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) crisis which is currently presented to our members via regular email communications, FAQ’s, online meetings and through gathering useful resources on our website.

On our website you will find helpful information and links from sources like Health Service Executive, Health Protection Surveillance Centre, as well as guidance issued by the National Federation to its Members and to the public regarding issues affecting our services and the people we support.

We are aware that staff members and management are working tirelessly to ensure the safety and wellbeing of people with intellectual disabilities and their families and we wish to acknowledge the significant contribution across disability services to achieve these goals.

We pledge our support to all of the people supported by our members, their families, staff and management as together we continue to work through the COVID crisis.
