The National Federation of Voluntary Bodies providing services to People with Intellectual Disability wishes to acknowledge the Government’s commitment to protect people with intellectual disabilities in Budget 2013.  In particular we welcome the Government’s announcement to confine the cut in disability funding to 0.3%.  This equates to €5million and while any cut in funding will present challenges, as a National Federation of Service Providers we are committed to working with Government and the Health Services Executive to enable delivery of its Service Plan and to minimise the impact of the 0.3% cut in funding on frontline services.
