Presentations from Next Steps Event available to download

(17 Apr 2014)

Next Steps is a project that was set up to provide leadership and practical support to organisations who are working to provide individualised supports in order to enable a good life for the people supported. During the lifetime of the project to date, real and exciting changes have taken place, enabling choice and further independence in people’s lives. Organisations have gathered substantial learning in their journey to supporting people to achieve their chosen life and active citizenship.

A one day seminar was held on Monday 24th March 2014  in the Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise.  The purpose of this event was to share the learning gained through the case study approach adopted by the project. Participants shared their learning of how people have achieved their goals, the obstacles overcome and significant successes in the transformation of supports.

The event was attended by over 200 self-advocates, families, CEOs, front line staff & managers, HSE, Government Departments and Local Authorities.
