An opportunity for experienced front line staff to support volunteers and students through the process of peer mentoring. National best practice was explored and journals and publications reviewed. Front line staff and volunteers were also consulted. Clear recommendations in relation to mentoring agreements; work boundaries; role of mentor; skills of mentor, the mentoring relationship, adult learners.
