The presentation on the Assisted Decision Making Bill by Eilionoir Flynn and Maria Walls outlined the current debate on revisions to the Bill and the issues relevant to individuals, family members and service providers. Laura Powell presented on ‘The South Australian Supported Decision Making Project’ and it’s relevance to assisting decision making. Jennifer Deasy and Christine Delany presented on total communication approaches and their role in the decision making process. There was opportunities to discuss the key issues raised during Questions & Answer sessions following each presentation and Roundtable discussions took place in the afternoon.
The National Federation of Voluntary Bodies is an active member of the Legal Capacity Coalition seeking progressive legislation in this area.
